Brett Robertson - Acceleration Melbourne BRETT ROBERTSON

Director of Performance

Qualifications: Bachelor of Physical Education. Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation Level 1

Sporting Background: I played most sports during my younger years, however I found that cycling and water polo were my forte. Throughout school and university years I competed both nationally and internationally for these sports. I’m now a specialist recreational golfer, weekend triathlete and budding footy player.

Favorite Sports Club: All Blacks (rugby union) After moving to Victoria, I am now a keen supporter of the mighty Geelong Cats FC

Childhood role model: Christian Cullen (rugby union) Lance Armstrong (controversial, but still a great ambassador for his work in the cancer community.)

Coaching Experience: During my coaching career I have been lucky enough to work with a range of athletes and teams from development up to Olympic level. A Paralympic Silver Medal winner (Bridie Kean, Australian Gliders, Captain), Winter Olympians (Vuk Radjenovic, Astrid Loch-Wilkinson) Australian Wallabies players, Queensland Reds players, Minor League Baseball, Australian figure skating representatives, NBL players and Finals MVP’s, multiple state and national representatives. I have also had the pleasure of working for many semi-professional sporting teams, including the Brisbane Capitals, Aspley Hornets and Southport Sharks.

Where you see yourself in 5 years: Sipping cocktails on the beach…whilst also enjoying all things to do with family, sport and my career.

Vision for Acceleration Melbourne: I see Acceleration Melbourne as having the best platform to introduce Australian athletes to high performance training in the private sector. Staying at the forefront of sports science and technology is a way we can provide this to Australia.

Favorite quote: “Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They’re made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.” –Dan Gable
